hello again,

I create new menus using wpp so ...
I have to document what the programs do - at least in a short infoline - I used the "short description" in the "properties" panel.

when insertig something like ...
create a statistic showing
directorys and
files

it will display ...
create a statistic showing[brx] directorys and[brx] files

please note I used [ brx ] instead of [ br ]

I dont believe this is so on purpose !
any way to show it properly or is it not intendet to show more lines ? question is then why can I enter more ?

thanks for any reply

Hi JCL,
I am sorry, but I cannot reproduce this behavior. Both using "Enter" or "CTRL-Enter" (as in Excel...) I see in the Short Description the "[ br ]" string, that is less nonsense, anyway...
Obviously, this could not happen, but I think that can be avoided simply NOT using "Enter" into that field. I think that is the reason why this has not ever been signaled in the past. But, why did you must use it? In this type of field, the text go to a new line automatically...

hi ZioZione,

I know that - in a field like that - a "wrap" text is active - but thats not what I wanted. As you may have seen I tryed to "format" the text a bit - like having the linebreak where I want it ( and not automatically ). Also I wanted not one line in this helptext - I wanted more for better readability!

And yes I used the return to go to the next line.

So the question again - is this short-description intendet to be a 1 line output ?

or --> how is this field properly to be formatted ???

thanks for the reply ZioZione !

Hi JCL,
probably the most right answer is the first one.
I suspect also that the author simply does not consider formatting for that field other than uninterrupted (by newlines) strings... Also, I think, because this field is not used in other functions (i.e. tooltips), so is not important to format it, but only that it maintain its content... Hope this helps...

P.S. By the way, since this string is saved into the menu file (an XML file...) and I am too busy to do it by myself, you can do some tests on how this could be formatted for simulate the "newline" behavior (and, of course, if it is possible), ok ?
