[It] Ekiga (in precedenza nota come GnomeMeeting) è un'applicazione open source per il VoIP e la videoconferenza appositamente scritta per GNOME, un noto desktop environment. Ekiga utilizza sia il protocollo H.323 che il protocollo SIP. Supporta un gran numero di codec video, ed è pienamente compatibile con Microsoft NetMeeting. Ekiga fu scritto da Damien Sandras come tesi di laurea alla Université catholique de Louvain. Ora è sviluppato da un gruppo di sviluppo guidato da Damien Sandras

It supports HD sound quality and video up to DVD size and quality. It is interoperable with many other standard compliant softwares, hardwares and service providers as it uses both the major telephony standards (SIP and H.323).
