Even if, ( in the case that you want to use the native associations of the menù ), I don't understand why you want to install X-cafe. I don't use more it from a lot of time.

About the same problem I also have been thinking. Due to the embedded function of file assocation in the winPenPack menu the program X-Cafe is obviously unnecessary. The only reasonable explanation for the installation of X-Cafe would be that I can decide by the activation / deactivation of X-Cafe from case to case, as I would like to set the file associations at a given time.

Il pacchetto X-Cafe ha la versione del file INI in inglese non aggiornata, qualcuno può cambiarla?

Questa sera verifico e sistemo, adesso non posso accedere ai server...

Ciao!

A feature of the next release of the menù will be the possibility to activate/deactivate the associations in real time.

And not to forget also the option "send to" of a program, that allows you to send a file to the desired program with the right key of the mouse, this function it is very useful when you have a file that you want to use with more than a program.
This option works fine, also, with FreeCommander & Co.

I find out again, that the file association for PDF files with X-Cafe does not work immediately. Only after the second double click it works correctly. In this respect, the embedded file association is also better. The planned new feature of activation/deactivation on the file association in real time is awesome.

Can you explain me, how worked the "Send To" function in detail? In the meantime, I've found the solution.

At this point, again thank you for the many valuable tips!

Go to the properties windows of a program (F5)
in the second tab (Advanced) check "Make a 'Send To' Shortcut"
press "Ok" button.

By this moment when you select a file from Explorer (& Co.) and you press the right key of the mouse, in the contextual menù the wpp program will appear in the "Send To" list.

Configuring the programs that interest you, in this way, you can use more than a program to open your files.
Example: I've associate the .DOC files with X-OpenOffice and LibreOffice it has the "Send To" option enabled.
With The double click I can open the .DOC document with OO, with the right key I can open any document with LO.
