Hi dlusera,
I'm not pretty sure I well understood your request.
Anyway, if you want 2 versions "in parallel" on your hard drive, there is nothing special to do!

1) Download both X versions.
2) "Install" one in a folder you like (es. C:/MyPortables/X-FF3)
3) close the version installed
4) Install" the other one in another folder (es. C:/MyPortables/X-FF6)
5) close the version installed

Now You have both versions fully available (but not in the same time!)

Hope I well focused your request!

Sorry, my bad english.
I mean the 'X-Firefox-3.ini' setting, any setting need modify(enable/disable) for performance and stable run on harddisk(not pendriver).

Thanks.

Have you noticed X-Firefox-3 is not stable and powerful on hard disk?
If yes, under what circumstances?

X-Firefox (both 3.x and 6.x versions) still runs with good performance and stability (without editing at all the respective .ini files), running from pendrives. Running them from hard disk, I didn't expect less performance...
So, I think that is not necessary to modify .ini files, unless (obviously) you have very particular needs that cannot be obtained through changing Firefox options.

Hi dlusera,
Firefox 3 is better than Firefox 6 only if you have a computer with not updated hardware.
FF6 use more memory than FF3, and if you don't have enough ram memory the SO start to swap on disk, with consequently less performance.
For my personal experience, on my (almost) new Vista 2Gb ram I can use FF6 (X-Firefox 6 obviously ) normally, but on my old XP 512MB ram I must use X-Firefox 3 otherwise the system often continously hang to swap memory.

Thanks. because I see this following info. so I ask. I don't this is correct or Not(Palemoon is used X-firefox kernal):

Advanced options:
If you run Pale Moon Portable from your harddisk (to keep it self-contained), you may want to enable the disk cache and xul cache for better performance. Be aware that the Portable version will not provide file associations unless you specifically make them, yourself.

To enable caching, find the appropriate section in Palemoon-Portable.ini, under "Global Preferences":

;(enable cache)
browser.cache.disk.enable=false --> Change this to "true"
;(disable XUL cache)
nglayout.debug.disable_xul_cache=true --> Change this to "false"

By default, these settings will store the disk cache as a subdirectory of your profile called Cache.
If you prefer to have the cache in a different directory instead, change the following:

;(cache directory)
browser.cache.disk.parent_directory=%MOZ_PROFILE_PATH%|\\"

to a directory of your choice, for example:

browser.cache.disk.parent_directory="C:\Pale Moon Cache"

Yes, they use our launcher, but is personalized by Palemoon's staff and we have no influences on it.

our (X-Firefoxes) *.ini file has "general use" settings. Su, usually you don't need any particular optimization.
