My particular case: It is now possible to use Version 2 of Google translate API in OmegaT (version 2.5.0) but to do so, one needs to supply the program with a personal API key. It can be done through the .ini file (OmegaT.l4J.ini) or by using launch arguments in the command panel (-Dgoogle.api.key=XXXXXX). I am asking because I tried both ways with the X-software and it does not seem to work (i.e. my translation requests to Google are either ignored or not sent at all, I can't tell) My API key is valid and works on the non-portable version of OmegaT. Thank you!

Usually we test/update our portable versions only with "official/stable" releases. So, please, be patient and wait until newest 2.5 version will be officially released.

But just for the sake of discussion, let's forget I use version 2.5.0, as launch arguments were available in previous versions as well (to specify memory allocation for example). If I wanted to use such arguments, where should I use them? I tried adding them to the OmegaT.l4J.ini that comes with the original program but it seems that this file is bypassed when used with a portable software. Should I add them in the X-OmegaT.ini file? E.g. [FileToRun] PathToExe=$Lib$\Java\bin\javaw.exe Parameters=-Duser.home="%OmegaTProfileDir%" -jar -Xmx512M OmegaT.jar I tried doing this as well but it does not seem to work. Am I missing something? Thank you again!

Thank you again! I am an absolute beginner for OmegaT, so forgive me for any error... Maybe you misplaced the option. I have just read into the OmegaT manual that all the commandline options must be written BEFORE calling the OmegaT.jar, as follows Parameters=-Duser.home="%OmegaTProfileDir%" -Xmx512M -jar OmegaT.jar I tried myself to modify this row into the X-OmegaT.ini, and it correctly runs (anyway, I don't know if this is enough for you to state that it works...). Hope this helps. Best Regards ZioZione

I was trying this on a system for which I do not have administrator's rights and it's the reason why it did not work. I was actually trying to use a portable version to bypass the limitations imposed by my not being an administrator. Every argument seems to work on a machine where I do have these rights. Thanks!
