X-Firefox as default browser

In the menu configuration window I can right-click on X-Firefox and choose the entry "Properties" in the context menu. In the tab "Protocols" I can set a checkmark next to "Http / Https". Does this mean, that Firefox is now the default browser or which consequence has this checkmark exactly?
