Hi JackL,
where did you find news about 0.8.6d version? In main site there is only 0.8.6c...

Hi JackL,
"nice" to hear... but our policy is, usually, to wait for official releases before creating corresponding X-programs, so I think that, for an official release of X-VideoLAN_0.8.6d, you have to wait a little...

In any case (at your own risk...) you can uncompress installation program with Universal Extractor, i.e. into \temp\vlc (from now on we will call it "source". You will obtain some folders and files. As usual, you can delete NSIS.nsi file and $PLUGINSDIR folder. Base folder for copying into is \Bin\videolan ("dest" folder). Copy all files from "source" into "dest", with the exception of axvlc.dll (to be copied into "dest"\activex folder) and npvlc.dll (to be copied into "dest"\mozilla folder). Then copy all subfolders of "source"\$[31] folder into "dest" folder. That's all. Let me know if it works.

Best Regards

What do you thnk about this program: Kantaris.
Is a new opensource multimedia player based on VLC code.
I don't know if it's possible to make it portable.

Hi EagleMan,
I took a look on kantaris and it seems to have some nice addition to VLC - I wonder if it's possible to add mentioned bass library to existed x-vlc :] rather than make Kantaris portable - also skin and visualization should be modular so why to bother ?
cheers

Hi JackL,
as I know, the only program who links together .exe and .dll files is... the linker of your compiler...
But, I think, you need also source code (at least for executable...). Anyway, I will search around some solution. Please, let me know if you will be more lucky than me...
Best Regards
