But I don't know If it is 100% Portable, soo far After testing it seems to work fine, but I do not know if it writes anything to the reg or the local folders. And I'm not the writer of the program either. I'v just been testing it for science porpuses. Can anyone help me out? I started wrong here, look at my last post. Anybody know how to work around? emu48ini.rar Hi mpscuba68, welcome to our forum! First of all, I confirm this behavior (also depicted into Emu48 manual...). The workaround is very simple: use X-Launcher! You can portabilize Emu48 with X-Launcher because of the GPL licence under Emu48 is released. I tried a first portabilization, that you can find attached to this post. The program files should be copied into \Bin\Emu48 folder (and not into the \Lib folder, reserved to libraries such as Java, GTK, etc.). The .zip content that you posted above is ok to be unzipped into \Bin\Emu48 folder. Otherwise, extract all files from setup with Universal Extractor. The X-Emu48.ini file is instructed to do two main jobs: 1) Copy the Emu48.ini into $Windows$ folder (this must be done because does not exists any environment variable related to .ini path to be modified for let Emu48 to write .ini file into its own folder) 2) Edit the Emu48.ini file "Emu48Directory" item to reflect the actual disk/folder where Emu48 resides. This is necessary (and very useful ) when Emu48 is executed from a USB pendrive. Please try it (and test with Regshot...) and let me know if it works well. If you are interested with other informations about X-Launcher, you can read this document -Link- . Best Regards ZioZione x-emu48.zip

I'd like to ask you to follow the Portabilization request procedure (you can also edit your first message). @ZioZione It is necessary to fix the docs paths otherwise an error message is shown, moving the software to another drive or path: @mpscuba68 Please extract your .rar archive in \Bin\Emu48 directory and save you files in \Documents\Emu48 directory x-emu48_1.47_rev2.zip Comunicazione di servizio (@ZioZione): è meglio utilizzare l'ultima intestazione dell'ini e non quella che usavamo precedentemente.

Cordialmente ZioZione [ Edited Tue 09 Jun 2009 - 16:32 ]

At the moment, seems there is no solution, because the program search emu48.ini only on @windowsdir@, without considering any external variables or parameters... If so, we can only distribute del X-Version with the notice that administrative privilege are needed for a correct execution. bye

Yes, [1] you or Sebastien Carlier, Christoph Giesselink, Magne Petkovic are not the INI file authors. Please update correctly all copyright informations, as stated in winPenpack License Agreement and in GNU General Public License. [2] I'd like to ask you (once again) to follow the Portabilization request procedure (you can also edit your first message). [ Edited Tue 16 Jun 2009 - 12:57 ]
