hello again

first of all - I searched the forum for any kind of message about it - but did not find anything like it

Problem is that with many antivirus-programs I get messages about the X-Cafe as well know trojaner

Question is why can't that be corrected or is that impossoble ?

It's just not funny to sit on bomb ( not knowing real )

Hi Jcl,
I've just downloaded and scanned via VirustTotal the latest version of X-Cafe (X-Cafe 3.6 [rev2 re-released]), and the result is : "Nothing"

Here you can find the report, and this is the summary:
File name: X-Cafe_3.6_rev2_re-released.zip
Submission date: 2010-10-05 09:58:17 (UTC)
Current status: analysing finished
Result: 0/ 43 (0.0%)

The only things that I can imagine, is that the cafe.exe executable itself is compressed with UPX, and this in your antivirus can be interpreted as a false positive.

--- edit ---
I've tried to uncompress cafe.exe from UPX, but after that the program does not work anymore ("exe corrupted" error), so at the moment still remain this version in download. Sorry.

Hi JCL,
just a little hint: because you talked about X-Cafe, and not cafe.exe itself, I think that AVG signaled the first one. So I think that you can try to un-UPX X-Cafe and see if AVG alerts again for trojans... that, I am sure, are not present...
Best Regards
