Hello,

if somebody is interested I wrote a launcher for a small program that I find very useful for keeping the software I have on the portable USB media up-to-date. Here it is:

Description:
SUMo, which stands for Software Update Monitor. Thanks to SUMo you'll be able to keep your PC up-to-date by using the most recent version of your favorite software ! Unlike build-in auto update features, SUMo tells you if updates are available before you need to use your software.
Features
* Automatic detection of installed software
* Detects required updates / patchs for your software
* Filter / authorize Beta versions (user setting)
* Ignore list : only tracks software YOU want to track
* More compatibility and less false positive than others Update Monitors (according to users feedback

* Internationalization support.
Portable tips how-to: use the provided x-launcer X-SUMo
- extract the folder SUMo into X-SUMo\Bin (so as to have X-SUMo\Bin\SUMo)
- run X-SUMo.exe

X-SUMo launcher 1.3.1 ini rev1 (tested with SUMo 2.4.1.67)
License: SUMo is freeware (but not opensource)

As I have already said by e-mail, SUMo is not an open source program.
Therefore is not possible to link a modified version (or a launcher) on winPenPack.com, neither it is possible to portabilize (modifiy) it without author's permission.

I had to remove the launcher.

Please, search the corresponding open source program, portabilize it and share it with winPenPack community. Thank you for your collaboration.

I did not understand well your first email... I thought that posting a launcher without including the software itself was OK.

SUMo now have a portable version that CAN be included in your package.

there is a portable version of this freeware made by John T. Haller (Portableapps.com):
1. SUMo portable: -Link-

2. program version: 5.9.4.424
3. paf size: 2 MB
4. program installed: 6 MB

Surely he (John T. Haller) got permission from the author to build a portable with paf installer.

In my opinion You do not must update this discussion because winPenPack do not develop a portable version of SUMo.

In effect someone has already posted this update on PortableApps.
