Le principali caratteristiche presenti in qBittorrent sono l'interfaccia utente pulita ispirata ad μTorrent, un motore di ricerca interno ben integrato con ricerca simultanea nei più famosi siti di ricerca BitTorrent, il controllo remoto tramite un'interfaccia utente Web, il controllo avanzato sul peer, trackers, e torrents, la gestione delle code e della priorità dei torrent, il pieno supporto a UPnP / NAT-PMP, il supporto avanzato RSS con filtri download, la pianificazione dell'uso della banda. E' inoltre disponibile in più di 25 lingue (supporto Unicode), grazie al lavoro volontario dei suoi utenti di tutto il mondo.
