[It] Zim è un desktop wiki. Consente di scrivere in modo visuale ipertesti formattati, che vengono memorizzati in una struttura a cartelle, di inserire immagini e allegati e di esportare le pagine in formato html. Tutti i dati vengono memorizzati esclusivamente in file di testo. Alle funzioni di base se ne possono aggiungere altre tramite plugin, come ad esempio un editor di equazioni, un gestore di attività e il supporto per più versioni di una stessa pagina.

[En] Zim is a graphical text editor used to maintain a collection of wiki pages. Each page can contain links to other pages, simple formatting and images. Pages are stored in a folder structure, like in an outliner, and can have attachments. Creating a new page is as easy as linking to a nonexistent page. All data is stored in plain text files with wiki formatting. Various plugins provide additional functionality, like a task list manager, an equation editor, a tray icon, and support for version control.

Attenzione, da quello che si legge su -Link- la versione 0.60 è compatibile fino a Win XP: per Win successivi andrebbe aggiornata almeno a 0.61 (ora è disponibile la 0.65).
