winPenPack è un ambiente applicativo composto da software open source (vedi elenco..), modificati per poter essere eseguiti da pendrive USB, senza dover essere installati. La periferica removibile, pertanto, non è più un semplice supporto per l'archiviazione di dati, ma diviene un vero e proprio ambiente autonomo all'interno del quale applicazioni e documenti sono integrati in modo omogeneo. I software portatili inclusi in winPenPack non hanno necessità di installazione, non scrivono le impostazioni nel computer ospitante e possono essere trasportati da un computer all'altro tramite un qualsiasi supporto di memorizzazione esterno, come hard disk removibili o pendrive USB (ulteriori dettagli..).

It is a really self-contained environment, within programs, .xml and config files, documents are homogeneously integrated.
