X-Sunbird é una versione portatile di Mozilla Sunbird® (marchio registrato della Mozilla Foundation) creata da winPenPack.com. Alla prima esecuzione di X-Sunbird.exe, in automatico e in modo 'silente', verrà effettuato il download del setup di Sunbird® nella lingua scelta, verranno estratti gli eseguibili nella cartella \Bin (inizialmente vuota), e predisposto il file .ini di configurazione per le successive esecuzioni di X-Sunbird. Al termine dell'operazione, il setup viene rimosso dalla cartella \Lib.

Per questo motivo X-Sunbird andrà installato (o aggiornato) tramite una delle seguenti procedure.
N.B. In tutti i casi, assicurarsi che, per tutta la durata dell'installazione, Sunbird sia CHIUSO.

1. Automatica (solo per gli utenti delle suite winPenPack)
   
   Dalla finestra principale (si apre dal menu selezionando la prima voce in alto, "Configurazione"), cercare la categoria che accoglie X-Sunbird e su di essa fare click con il tasto destro del mouse, selezionando il comando "Installa Software..". Fornire nella finestra che si apre, il percorso dello ZIP dell'ultima versione di X-Sunbird e poi attendere che venga completata l'installazione. Durante tale fase viene effettuata l'installazione "silente" di Sunbird nella cartella \Bin di winPenPack; occorrerà quindi attendere qualche minuto che si completi.
   
   
2. Manuale (per utenti esperti sia delle singole applicazioni Mozilla che di winPenPack)
   
   
   Scompattare il nuovo ZIP di X-Sunbird in una cartella temporanea (ad esempio C:\SB_TEMP)
   Avviare il programma facendo doppio click su C:\SB_TEMP\X-Sunbird.exe
   Quando si apre la finestra principale di Sunbird, ciò significa che la fase di "pseudo-installazione" è terminata. Chiudere Sunbird.
   Copiare o spostare manualmente la cartella "C:\SB_TEMP\Bin\Sunbird" (ovvero, della versione appena installata) al posto di quella presente nella cartella "\Bin\Sunbird" della versione da aggiornare. In questo modo si mantiene inalterato il profilo utente "\User\Sunbird" eventualmente già esistente.
   Copiare o spostare i nuovi file "X-Sunbird.exe" e "X-Sunbird.ini" sovrascrivendo quelli eventualmente preesistenti.
   
   

X-Sunbird is a portable version of Mozilla Sunbird® (registered trademark of the Mozilla Foundation) created by winPenPack.com. At first X-Sunbird.exe execution, automatically and in 'silent' mode, will be downloaded the Sunbird® setup of the selected language, will be extracted all program files into the (initially empty) \Bin folder, and installed the correct .ini file for all next X-Sunbird executions. At the end of these operations, the setup file will be removed from \Lib folder.

For this reason, X-Sunbird will have to be installed (or updated) through one of following procedures.
N.B. In any case, be sure that, during installation, Sunbird is NOT RUNNING.

1. Automatic install (for winPenPack suites users only)
   
   From winPenPack menu Launcher main window (opening from menu, selecting first option from top, "Configuration"), search the category where X-Sunbird is installed, right click on it and select "Install Software.." option from contextual menu. Insert the full path of last downloaded X-Sunbird ZIP file, then wait until installation is completed. During this phase, a "silent" Sunbird installation into \Bin folder is performed; it will need some minutes for complete.
   
   
2. Manual install (for all Mozilla standalone programs and winPenPack expert users)
   
   
   Unpack the downloaded X-Sunbird ZIP file into a temporary folder (i.e. C:\SB_TEMP)
   Run the program, double clicking C:\SB_TEMP\X-Sunbird.exe
   When the Sunbird main window will appear, it means that the "pseudo-installation" phase is completed. Close Sunbird.
   Copy or move "C:\SB_TEMP\Bin\Sunbird" folder contents (i.e. the new version) into "\Bin\Sunbird" (i.e. the old version). This allow to keep unchanged the user profile (under "\User\Sunbird") eventually existant.
   Copy or move "X-Sunbird.exe" and "X-Sunbird.ini" files overwriting the previous ones.
